On August 28,2020, Officials at the Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES made the decision to temporarily transition all of their instructional programs based out of the North Franklin Educational Center in Malone, NY and the Salmon River Central School District to a fully remote model. Students participating in these specific BOCES programs will begin receiving remote instruction on September 8, 2020, running through September 18, 2020.  FEH BOCES is preparing for students to return to in-person instruction at these locations beginning September 21, 2020.

The FEH BOCES’ Adirondack Educational Center in Saranac Lake, NY will not be affected and is still slated to open for in-person instruction on September 8, 2020.

While Malone Central School District and St. Regis Falls Central School District  announced earlier this week that they would be opening their school year utilizing a fully remote instructional model until September 21, 2020, the FEH BOCES was still committed to running their programs in-person for all students. This morning however, officials at FEH BOCES learned that Salmon River Central School District would also be starting their school year utilizing a fully remote model through September 21, 2020.  Given the fact that roughly 80% of all BOCES students come from Salmon River, Malone and St. Regis Falls, it was determined that having BOCES programs begin the year in a fully remote model would be the best option to maintain instructional integrity and consistency for the students while also allowing the BOCES instructional staff to focus on one model of instruction.
