On Monday, we at FEH BOCES spent the day celebrating our seniors with ceremonies throughout the day and evening.
“In the hands-on learning environments you’ve experienced, you have acquired practical skills and knowledge that go beyond textbooks and lectures,” said FEH BOCES District Superintendent Dale Breault Jr. told students during their ceremonies. “You have learned the value of precision, the importance of teamwork, and the satisfaction of creating something real. These are the qualities that will set you apart in the workforce and that employers are eagerly seeking.”
AEC ceremonies
The team at Adirondack Educational Center in Saranac Lake held four ceremonies throughout the day to honor seniors who completed various programs.
In a white tent set up in the parking lot behind the building, students, staff, friends and family gathered to celebrate this year's successful students. Principal Stephanie Murphy gave a speech in which she congratulated students on their growth throughout their time with FEH BOCES.
After her speech, Principal Murphy read off the name of each student in the programs being featured, listing all the official accomplishments, certifications and endorsements the student earned through their FEH BOCES program. They each approached the podium to be given their completion certificate and any other awards and honors by their teachers, teaching assistants, and School Social Worker Martha Schultz.
Then students posed for photos, enjoyed refreshments, and received flowers, hugs and other treats from friends and family.
NFEC ceremony
Our North Franklin Educational Center students celebrated as one big group in a ceremony in Malone Middle School's auditorium.
They donned graduation gowns or ceremonial native regalia, and each senior was called to the stage and given a certificate to honor their successful program completion.
Teachers, principals and school counselors also shook hands and gave plenty of hugs and high fives as students received their honors.
After the ceremony, everyone gathered for a reception in the middle school cafeteria, where they enjoyed refreshments, mingling, and festive setups to take photos in front of.
