Haudenosaunee flag alongside the flags of the United States and New York State

On Friday, October 18, the Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES proudly raised the Haudenosaunee flag alongside the flags of the United States and New York State. This was done to honor the rich cultural heritage and contributions of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, promoting an inclusive environment for all.

The FEHB Board of Education recently passed a resolution aimed at enhancing awareness, understanding, and respect for the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, its history, and its cultural traditions among students, staff, and the broader community. This initiative underscores the commitment to recognizing and celebrating the contributions of Indigenous peoples, fostering a sense of unity and respect within the educational setting.

By raising the Haudenosaunee flag, FEHB not only acknowledges the past but also reinforces its dedication to creating a culturally inclusive environment for future generations.
